Voice, Beginner Piano, Clarinet and Theory Lessons
Welcome to my lesson page.
I offer beginner to intermediate voice, clarinet, piano and theory lessons.
I enjoy teaching students of all ages where lessons will be tailored to the individual.
My personal voice-teaching method was developed from my classical and operatic vocal studies, however I welcome all types of voice students. I feel that a technique that emphasizes breath control and correct body alignment, benefits all genres. Though I teach from a classical approach, my students find it is easy to translate these lessons to the genres they enjoy singing. I am excited to help my students achieve their goals.
I help my students find their proper alignment and breath control which allows the body to relax and the voice to be set free. I found that approaching singing as an athlete approaches their sport; with dedication, practice and understanding of the body, the student is able to learn how singing can influence other aspects of their life. Body alignment and correct posture allows the voice to be flexible and agile. I also use athletics, dance and yoga in lessons, allowing the connection to the physical illustrate how the body and the breath are connected. I find that this enables the best vocal production, which, in turn allows the performer to focus on the dramatics of the work and not be concerned with technique.
My high school students have been accepted into prestigious performance programs such as Manhattan School of Music, Emerson School of Music, Point Park University, New York University TISH, Wagner College, Pace University, Elon University, Pennsylvania State University, American Music and Dramatic Academy (AMDA), Montclair State University, Marymount University, and Florida Southern University.
Currently I offer in person and virtual lessons.
All of my students have the opportunity to perform in small salon style recitals. (Reciatls are scheduled based on interest in the studio this is a non-pressure event)
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if you are interested in lessons.
